Through the generosity of W. K. Baggett, Crockett County ranchman, the Ozona Lions Club has acquired a tract of land upon which to locate a golf course, a project upon which the club has been at work for three years or more. Mr. Baggett, a few days ago in conference with club officials, volunteered to donate the use of a tract of land just south of his ranch home two miles north of Ozona for a golf course, the land to be turned over to the club for that purpose for a period of five years without rental Work has already been started by club members toward laying out the course, and as soon as the fairways and greens are located, the club will start work toward clearing the fairways, building tees and greens and otherwise improving the course for play. The plot of ground given by Mr. Baggett for the golf course lies north and east of the lane leading to the Baggett ranch home, the tract being bounded on the east by Johnson. It contains from 60 to 80 acres and is an ideal site for a golf course.
