4-H members compete in Sonora Invitational

Ozona—Crockett County 4-H members competed at the Sonora Invitational Judging Contests on April 6.

The Intermediate Range Evaluation and Plant ID Team of Klacey Dean, Ryker Dean, Justin Stuart, and Luke Stuart finished 1st Place in the Intermediate Division in both Range Evaluation and Plant ID contests.

Klacey finished 1st Place in the Intermediate Division as an individual in both Range Evaluation and Plant ID contests and Ryker finished 2nd Place in the Intermediate Division as an

individual in the Plant ID contest.

The team also brought home the coveted E.B. Keng silver bowl traveling award. The Keng award goes to the overall highpoint Range team regardless of age division.

First year team member Grey Pierce also competed as a Junior Individual.

Crockett County 4-H members also competed in Wool and Mohair Judging and Wool and Mohair Fleece Show at the Sonora Invitational Contests.

Mia Cruz and Sebastian Fullingim competed in both wool and mohair judging contests.

Entering the Mohair Fleece Show were Mia Cruz, Gabreil Fullingim, McKendree Galindo, Kailyn Preddy, Trey Preddy, and Maddox Villarreal.

Trey Preddy placed 5th with a yearling mohair fleece, McKendree Galindo placed 6th with a kid mohair fleece, and Mia Cruz placed 7th with a kid mohair fleece.
