Aug. 22, 1935
While stunting on a bicycle Sunday night in front of the Miller Service Station, Richard Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller, suffered painful but not serious injuries when the bicycle struck a nearby “stop" sign and threw the rider to the pavement. Extent of the injuries were painful cuts about both legs, abrasions on the arms and a severe rut in the right elbow. The Ozona youth was confined to bed early this week.

Aug. 23, 1945
Mrs. Charles K. Davidson, Sr., suffered a badly crushed foot Wednesday morning when a joint of pipe, being unloaded from a truck, fell on her foot, breaking five bones - in the member. Mrs. Davidson was standing nearby watching her son, Chas E. Davidson, Jr., and some workmen unload the pipe when one joint fell in such a manner that it struck her foot. After an examination of her injuries here, Mrs. Davidson was taken to a San Angelo hospital where the broken bones were set. She was reported yesterday afternoon as resting well.

On completion of 25 years consecutive service with Commercial Standard Insurance Co., E. Bright Baggett receives an appreciation token, a gold wristwatch, from Branch Manager A. P, Scrimshire of Abilene. A group of 20 relatives and friends of Mr. Baggett and four high company officials were present for the occasion, a luncheon at The House of Flowers. (Hickman Photo)

Four new 80-foot steel towers on which new lights for the football field are to be mounted were to be unloaded at Lions Stadium before this week is out and contractors promised the new lighting system will be installed and in operation in time for the first football game. Hirschfield Steel Co. of San Angelo has constructed the towers in two sections and all four are expected to be delivered at the field by the end of this week.

FOOTBALL IS IN THE AIR — Ozona Lion fans will have an opportunity to see the Lions in action Friday night in an intra-squad scrimmage at Lion Stadium. The boys will be introduced individually before the scrimmage begins at 7:30. The Ozona High School Band will also make its first appearance of the year. Following the activities, the Lion Boosters will honor the boys with a watermelon bust behind the east stands.
