Ozona—The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of calls and made several arrests during the reporting period from Jan. 1 through Jan. 11, according to the department’s weekly activity report.

Incidents:

From Jan. 1 through Jan. 11, Crockett County deputies responded to a variety of incidents across the county. 

On Jan. 1, deputies were dispatched to a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and State Highway 137, where EMS, fire personnel and the Texas Department of Public Safety also responded. That same day, deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on 11th Street, a disturbance on Pecos Street, loud music on Sheffield Road, a suspicious vehicle on Interstate 10, and a report of a reckless driver on Sheffield Road.

On Jan. 2, deputies addressed a loud noise complaint on Avenue O, investigated property damage on State Highway 163, responded to a second loud noise complaint on Avenue O, and assisted a stranded motorist on 1st Street as well as a citizen with a locked vehicle on Walnut Drive.

Jan. 3 saw deputies dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 137, with DPS assistance, and disturbances on Avenue E and Swaps Street.

On Jan. 4, deputies assisted a stranded motorist on State Highway 163, a locked vehicle on 14th Street, responded to a disturbance on 14th Street, conducted a child custody stand-by on State Highway 163, investigated a reckless driver on Interstate 10, and responded to a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 137 with EMS assistance.

On Jan. 5, deputies responded to reports of property damage on Avenue I and Swaps Street, a disturbance on Cenisa Street, and conducted a child custody stand-by on State Highway 163.

Jan. 6 incidents included an open door on Crockett Heights Drive, an abandoned vehicle on Interstate 10, a welfare check on 2nd Street, and a domestic disturbance on Cenisa Street.

On Jan. 7, deputies responded to a hit-and-run on State Highway 163, property damage on Buena Vista Street, a disturbance on Avenue I, a welfare check on Avenue O, and a minor vehicle crash on State Highway 163.

On Jan. 8, deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle on Avenue J, disturbances and a welfare check on War Admiral, a disturbance on Sunset Drive, and a suspicious person on Avenue E.

Jan. 9 included a welfare check on Leal Street and assistance to two stranded motorists on State Highway 137 and Interstate 10.

On Jan. 10, deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 10 with DPS, EMS, and fire assistance, and investigated threats on Avenue D.

Finally, on Jan. 11, deputies responded to another motor vehicle crash on Interstate 10 with EMS and DPS assistance and aided a stranded motorist on Interstate 10.

Arrests:

During the reporting period, Crockett County deputies made multiple arrests on charges ranging from traffic offenses to felony violations.

On Jan. 2, Juan Vega of Ozona was arrested on a charge of harassment. He was arraigned, posted bond and was released.

On Jan. 3, Brizela Guzman of Kyle was arrested for theft of service in an amount of $2,500 or more but less than $30,000. She was arraigned, posted bond and was released. On the same date, Rodrigo Salazar Castillo of Port Lavaca was arrested for failure to identify by giving false or fictitious information and for a Class C liquor violation. He was arraigned, posted bond and was released.

On Jan. 4, Danny Jovani John of Midland was arrested for driving while license invalid with a previous conviction, suspension or without financial responsibility. He was arraigned, posted bond and was released.

On Jan. 6, Nichole Lynn Munoz of Ozona was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was arraigned, posted bond and was released. Also on Jan. 6, Charlie Brown Gravell of Ozona was arrested for assault of a pregnant person. He was arraigned, posted bond and was released.

On Jan. 7, Yunet Hernandez-Proenza of Houston and Carmen Rosa Cuesta-Rivera of Houston were each arrested on charges of smuggling of persons. Both were arraigned, posted bond and were transferred to immigration custody.

On Jan. 8, Naeem Azam Khan of Houston was arrested for possession of marijuana in an amount greater than four ounces but less than or equal to five pounds. He was arraigned, posted bond and was released.

All individuals listed in the Sheriff’s Report are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
