Ten members of Ozona High School’s 1936 basketball squad will be awarded sweaters at appropriate exercises in connection with the weekly assembly program in the High School auditorium this afternoon. Winners of two important tournaments during the season and maintaining a high average of wins in induvial games, the Lions were going strong until mumps invaded the precinct and hostilities ceased suddenly.
However, it was a highly successful season, as far as it went, in the opinion of Coach Ted White, and the sweater winners earned their trophies. Squad members who will receive the handsome coat sweaters of light old gold color, with a five-inch half block purple chenille letter include Captain Vaughan Brown, D.A. Parker, Lonard Freeman, Jake Casbeer, James Childress, Laverne Schwalbe, Joe T. Davidson, Haskell Leath, Fred Parker and James Parker.
