Youth shine at Texas 4-H State Roundup

Crockett County—Crockett County 4-H members Klacey and Kaylee earned top finishes at the 2026 Texas 4-H State Roundup, showcasing months of dedication, preparation and hard work.

The annual Texas 4-H State Roundup brings together youth from across Texas who have advanced through district-level competitions.

Klacey competed in both the Range & Pasture Identification Contest and the Range Evaluation Contest. She delivered strong performances in both events.

On Tuesday, Klacey placed 13th in the Range & Pasture Identification Contest. She followed that accomplishment on Wednesday with a seventh-place finish in the Range Evaluation Contest. 

Kaylee Turned in an impressive performance after qualifying for the State Horse Judging Contest. 

Kaylee placed ninth overall at the state contest, earning a top-10 finish.

The achievements of both young women reflect the commitment required to reach the state level in Texas 4-H. Qualifying for State Roundup demands months of studying, practicing and traveling to contests throughout the year.

The performances by Klacey and Kaylee serve as a testament to their determination and enthusiasm for agriculture and 4-H programs. Their accomplishments have brought recognition to Crockett County and demonstrated the strength of its 4-H program.
