Jack Baggett, Jr re-elected to board
Ozona—Jack Baggett, Jr of Ozona was re-elected on Oct. 10, to continue his representation of subdivision 3 of the Crockett County Soil and Water Conservation District 235 (SWCD). The Crockett County SWCD is located at 201-D 11th St in the NRCS/USDA building.
Baggett is a life-long resident and operates a ranch south of Ozona. He is also active in the Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Assn and the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Assn and is a member of the TALL Class 8. He has served on many local boards including the Hospital and Care Center Board, Ozona School Board and the Property Tax Assessor Board.
The Baggett Ranch has hosted the Annual 6th grade Field Day for years as he is very interested in the youth learning about our natural resources. These attest to his interest in our community as well as the conservation of our natural resources.
The Crockett County SWCD is a political subdivision of state government, divided into five subdivisions, each represented by an elected director. The purpose of the district is to offer technical, financial, and educational resources to landowners and operators. This helps them to become better stewards of the soil, water, and related resources that they manage or own.
The Crockett County SWCD welcomes Jack to another term as a member of the board of directors. He will continue his role as vice-chairman. As a member of our Board, he will play a significant role in providing technical assistance to our district cooperators who wish to implement conservation programs on their land. Directors are Paul Perner, III, Chairman, Jack Baggett, Vice-Chairman, Pleas Childress, Secretary, Ira Childress, Director, and Ty Allen, Director.
Board meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. at 201 11th St in the NRCS/USDA Building. These meetings are open to the public.
