Dan Clayton Sewell
Dan Clayton Sewell, Age 63, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024.
Dan was born to L.T. “RIP” and Ellen Rae Sew-ell on January 18, 1961, in Brownfield TX. He was raised much of his youth in Ozona, Tx alongside his brother and sisters. He graduated Ozona High School in 1979 where he excelled in athletics and academics. He then at-tended Sul Ross University for a period of time, before returning to Ozona, TX to pursue his life-long career in the oilfield industry where he grew to be very knowledgeable in several areas and held several supervisory positions, while mentoring many along the way.
He married Martha Jane Montgomery on May 24, 1986, and was blessed with two beautiful children, Kyle and Kelly Sewell. Dan held many titles through-out his career, and in 2011 he was given his favorite title, “Pepaw”. Aubrey Rae Sewell was his pride and joy, his sunshine. Dan was a loving father and grand-father to his kids and granddaughter. He loved them more than anything in this world, they were his everything.
Dan is survived by Martha Sewell, his daughter Kelly Rae Sewell of Allison, TX, son, Kyle and wife Cristy Sewell, his only grandchild, Aubrey Rae Sewell of Ozona, TX, his brother, David and wife Sherri Sewell of Ozona, TX, his sisters, Karen and husband David Huff of Coleman, TX, Kathy and husband Randy Turner of Coleman, TX. His Uncle Doc and Patty Sewell of Kerrville, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father L.T. “RIP” Sewell, mother Ellen Rae Sewell and Cousin Dee Sewell.
Dan lived a full, fun filled, happy life, highlighted by family, travel and once in a lifetime experiences. Wherever Dan was, he was surrounded by enormous amounts of love and friendships. He was known for being a relatable character in the stories he reminisced on and being full of life wisdom. Along the way Dan found the Lord, his savior and thrived in his light. He was a unique soul and a remarkable man that will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who knew him.
Dan really was the GREATEST.
