EnPleinAirTEXAS Painted Ranches exhibit

June 20, 2024

San Angelo—The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts’ EnPleinAirTEXAS inaugural Ranch Fellowship launches with the ‘Painted Ranches Fellowship Exhibition and Sale.’

The exhibition features the works of plein air artists, Liz Bonham (Keller, TX) and Katie Dobson-Cundiff (Sarasota, FL), two of this year’s selected artists. This exhibition will be open to the public during regular museum visiting hours at Gallery Verde (417 South Oakes Street, San Angelo) from June 15-28.

From dramatic Western landscapes to dynamic figurative works and quiet still lifes, Bonham and Dobson-Cundiff display the range of their skills with spontaneous works painted en plein air (in the open air) and larger, more detailed works completed in the painters’ studios. All exhibited works are for sale, with proceeds benefiting the museum’s educational programming.

A workshop will be held on Saturday, June 22, led by Katie Dobson-Cundiff. ‘Painting with Intention’ will get participating artists out of their “comfort zone” and teach them to experiment and see things from a new perspective. Tickets are available to purchase online.
