Victor Manuel Gutierrez

Victor Manuel Gutierrez, 72 years old, went to be with the Lord on the evening of July 28, 2024. Victor was born on October 17, 1951 to Patricio Gutierrez and Isidra Hernandez-Alvarez. Victor was raised in Ozona, TX by Arnulfo Alvarez and Isidra Hernandez-Alvarez. He was the oldest of 7 children. Victor was a proud member of the OLPH Catholic Church and attended Ozona Public Schools, until he was of working age, which at that time he went straight into the workforce. He later worked at Circle Bar Truckstop where he met Oralia Ramirez, the love of his life, in 1998. He then filled the biggest role of his life as a family man, a father figure for Joey, Linda, and Harvey Ruiz. He instantly became a big part of the family. After a few years, he then went to work for Glover Company until his diabetes kept him in and out of the hospital and at home for a few years. He worked part-time at the Methodist Church once he recovered. For most of his life he was a yard man and would do any jobs that people needed taken care of around their homes. He worked at Stripes and did yards until the moment he got put into the hospital. Victor was a sweet, kind hearted man, who was always willing to help anyone in need. He would always greet you with a smile, a “hello” and maybe a comment about the weather. He was a man of many many words. He loved going to work, working on his vehicles, music, playing his keyboard and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. The grandkids and great-grandkids would always put a smile on his face and make him chuckle. They warmed his heart and he was amazed by each one of them. Above all, he loved spending all his time with Oralia. He had some big roles to fill but he did it with such ease and with zero hesitation. The natural bond and love he had for his family and the love his family had for him, was amazing, true, unconditional and unbreakable. He already is greatly missed and forever will be.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents Arnulfo and Isidra Alvarez. Victor is survived by his wife, Oralia Ramirez. Their children, Joey Ruiz (Shavonne), Linda Ruiz (Alex), and Harvey Ruiz (Lauren). His siblings Celia Bhandari, Irma Ortiz, Gustavo Ortiz, Joey Alvarez, David Alvarez, and Mary Chavarria. His grandchildren, Justice Adkins (Victoria), Azaylea Tovar (Matthew), Izac Adkins, Audrey, Lily, and Ellie Ruiz, Exander Whitby, Cameran and Devin Ochoa. And 3 greatgrand children, Maggie Adkins, Malakhai and Mercedez Sanchez. And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing at Preddy Funeral home is July 30, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and July 31, 2024 from 9 a.m. to noon. Funeral will be July 31, 2024 at 1 p.m. at OLPH Catholic Church. Then will be taken to his final resting place at Lima Cemetary.
