Cross-Country teams begin competing

Ozona—The OHS Cross-Country Teams started the 2024 season competing in San Antonio on Aug. 10.

The Lady Lions competed with 5A-6A teams in the JV Division and finished fourth, 10th and 20th out of 24 teams.

The Lions finished 14th out of 31 teams in the JV 6A Division.

“We are a young team all around, but our senior leadership is outstanding. Ysa Esparza, Savannah De La Cruz and Moses Ramirez had that senior strength today that the team used to energize the others,” Coach Laura Taylor said. “The boys were missing a few runners due to family events, but we will be back in full this Friday. The team we had compete, showed big personal improvements from last season.”
