The Ozona High School band spent most of last Saturday at the area band marching contest held in San Angelo. The band won a first-place award with its twirlers and Drum Major Mary Jane Dunlap won a first division award in twirling in individual contests. The band, with a new director and with a large number of freshmen in its ranks this year, did not make a first division in marching. The contest drew bands from class 4-A to class B and the area included bands from all the area between Abilene and San Angelo and as north and south.
