Crockett County 4-H members recently combined creativity, compassion, and community service by making and delivering handmade dog treats to the Crockett County animal shelter.
The special treats, made from simple, nutritious ingredients like sweet potatoes and yogurt, were prepared during an educational activity designed to teach the members the value of giving back.
After crafting the treats, the group delivered them to the animal shelter, where they were warmly welcomed by the staff and furry residents. The visit included a tour of the facility, giving the members an opportunity to learn about the shelter's mission and meet the animals it serves.
From wagging tails to grateful purrs, the animals' responses were heartwarming and reminded everyone of the joy that comes with acts of kindness. This meaningful project not only benefited the animals but also reinforced valuable lessons in responsibility, empathy and community involvement for the 4-H members.
Crockett County 4-H is proud of its young leaders for their dedication to serving others—both human and animal alike.
