TxDOT seeking input on future of US 377

Denton—The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking public input on the future of US 377, a corridor that spans 462miles from Del Rio to the Texas-Oklahoma state line and plays a major role in moving people and goods through Texas.

The comprehensive study will evaluate transportation needs and prioritize improvements to enhance safety, mobility, connectivity, and system continuity along the study corridor to support economic opportunity in the region. TxDOT is asking the public to participate in a survey to share their experiences traveling along the corridor, highlight safety, mobility, and connectivity challenges, and provide insights into priorities for US 377.

“This study provides TxDOT a valuable opportunity to listen to communities, businesses, and the public on how the US 377 corridor should take shape to strengthen connections between communities and support economic opportunities for Texans now and into the future,” said Lorena Echeverria de Misi, TxDOT corridor planning branch manager.

The public is also encouraged to leave comments about specific locations along the corridor on an interactive map. Both the survey and the interactive map will be available from Dec. 4– Jan. 9 on https://www.txdot.gov/projects/projects-studies/statewide/us377-texas-corridor-study.html

This study, guided by dedicated groups representing the north, central, and south segments of the US 377 corridor, emphasizes enhancing safety, mobility, connectivity with key Texas corridors, integrating new technology, and addressing additional priorities vital to the region’s growth and development.
