4-H members sew for a cause
March 27, 2025

Crockett County—Members of Crockett County 4-H recently put their sewing skills to work to create handmade pillows for Crockett County Care Center residents.
The project, Giving Back One Stitch at a Time, provided a fun and educational opportunity. Participants learned the basics of sewing while giving back to the community. With fabric, thread, and creativity, the young members stitched together soft, colorful pillows to comfort the residents.
“This was such a great learning experience for the kids,” Rebecca Taylor, Crockett County Extension agent, said. “Not only did they learn a new skill, but they also got to see firsthand how a small act of kindness can make a big difference.”
4-H members developed life skills, expressed creativity, and showed compassion for others through the event.
“Community service is a core value of 4-H, and this project is a perfect example of how young people can make a positive impact. The group looks forward to more opportunities to serve, one stitch at a time,” Taylor said.
